I Am In Love With Gadgets Like NetbooksPDAs, Android Phones And The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

I like widgets. PDAs, cell-phones, capsules, netbooks, you mention it have always caught my attention. These handy transportable tools and “toys” make our day to day existence much more delightful and productive. I am going back a bit farther than most to before the paper planner.

Back in the 60′s I was obsessive about making plans which I proceeded not to follow. I might work out the day with precision that would make “Covey” jealous and then go on to just do the day like a stream of consciousness flitting from one thing to another. I had an instructor who was fascinated by these exercises. I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t get into one of the early planners.

Widgets with all of their alarms and portability finally allowed me to actually succeed in executing one of my fantastically designed days. Every time I would head off on a tangent, the reminder would put me back on course.

I adored the Psion handhelds and I had all the different models including the series 7 and a “NetBook”- That is the one before all the popular Netbooks of today. The Net book may be dropped a meter to a wooden floor without damage. They were solidly built and about the dimensions of a modern Netbook, only 10 times heavier.

When ASUS came out with the first Net Book precursor I had to have one. I abhorred it as the screen was poorly designed and tricky to use, although it was light and could thrown into a back pack. However , four Net Books later I wouldn’t go anywhere with out one.

IPhones and other smart phones have made everything tiny, but if you know the way to use one they are very powerful tools. Still I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the tiny screen for using the web. Still I wouldn’t be without one for scheduling and notes.

In comes the iPad followed by the Android 3.0 tablet platform. All the advantages of the Android phone with a screen big enough to essentially browse the net. Android is making a good showing against the iPad two with its release of the Android 3.1 platform. It appears that Apple must come out with some new features solely to assert the iPads domination of the Tablet market.

I have really become keen on the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Lenovo 3.1 model. There appears to be a correlation between what sort of cell telephone you use and whether you like the iPad 2 or the new Android 3.1 Tablet Computers.

Yes I like devices and I suspect the conflict between Apple and Google will cause the creation of some great new technology. For a gizmo junky like me this is a very cheerful thing!
