A Terrific Beginner’s Computer: HP Pavilion P6720f Desktop PC
When individuals start off in the computer world, they are searching for specific things. Some individuals want to play video games, others want to do digital photography, while others simply watch movies online or simply go on the Internet.
Perhaps a great computer system to get started with is something like the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC This PC comes with a big hard drive and plenty of RAM but it doesn’t have a powerful graphics card instead it is shared with the processor. This HP computer is a PC for computers users who are on a budget, and not too interested in gaming. You can’t do much computer gaming, but that will give you the chance concentrate on your computer time.
For $600, the HP Pavilion p6720f has 6GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive and a powerful 2.9GHz AMD Phenom 11 840T quad-core CPU, which are rather impressive specs for a budget machine. Also, the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC comes with an ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics chip plus standard PC features like a DVD burner and 802.11n wireless card.
The computer tower chassis is a timeless black design that has glossy front panel. An additional bay is found beneath the DVD burner, for expansion when you want to add a Blu-ray player. The PC is more or less seven inches wide and comes with the power button at the top of the case. Of course, this computer from HP includes your regular keyboard and mouse. Unlike a lot of new PCs, you won’t find a lot of software bundled with it. The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC comes with some try-before-you-buy software and HP’s excellent MediaSmart video and music suite.
There are several useful ports on the front, with a multi-format card reader bay being one of those ports. You will also find two USB 2.0 ports, together with the microphone and headphone jacks. The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC doesn’t come with multimedia type ports like Firewire or thunderbolt. The back of the computer includes four USB 2.0 ports, DVI port, VGA port and a digital audio port. Furthermore, this HP computer comes with 7.1 surround sound support. If you want a little room for expansion, you will be let down. Just like other budget computer systems, the internals look to be a jumbled mess, with wires bunched in the middle of the PC. There isn’t much that can be done when it comes to adding more parts. Nevertheless, you can upgrade the video card.
As a gaming computer, the HP Pavilion p6720f is not the most suitable choice or even a PC to even consider. The integrated ATI graphics just isn’t adequate for the quality required for your games. More casual computer games are more suitable to these low-end machines. If you need a computer for high end games, then something like the Micro Express MicroFlex 25B is good for that but it will cost you several hundred dollars more. Despite its graphic limitations, the Pavilion p6720f offers a lot of value for the price with generous hard drive space, lots of RAM and a powerful processor. For what I required and the budget I had, this HP computer was the right option. This PC is really easy to use, really fast and it didn’t hurt my pocketbook.
