End The Week Feeling Refreshed – Know About Ergonomics
PC ergonomics is a field that’s becoming more critical as more of us spend lengthy periods in front of the computer on a day-to-day basis. Years ago many people were basically ignorant when it came to ergonomics except for a brief mention by your elementary school teacher that you wanted to sit up straight in your poorly designed chair.
I really remember a friend giving me a P. C. stand that he had built for me and I believed that it was good because it provided good storage under the stand. It never took place to me that I don’t wanted to look down to see the monitor because it was now at eye-level and all I had to do was look straight ahead with out neck strain.
Some of the significant components of computer ergonomics include :
- an ergonomic mouse
- a set up where the monitor height can be adjusted
- things you need to do your job all within easy reach

The key to ergonomics is adjusting your workspace so that there’s at least stress on the body. You shouldn’t have to bend or stretch so as to reach or see your tools. Your chair should be altered so that your feet rest nicely flat on the floor. Your keyboard is at a level where your fingers float above it when your arms hang nicely with out stress.
The mouse should be positioned close to the keyboard and there are plenty of different energy saving mice that help cut stress on the wrist but you should select one that feels OK to you. My better half has an energy saving mouse that she loves nevertheless it feels awkward and un-familiar to me. Just find 1 you like.
Your monitor should be at a level where you don’t have to look down or up or sideways to see the screen. Any generally used tools are positioned so they are widely available and simply reached with minimal body strain. You should be acquainted with the factors concerned including such things as ergonomic mouse.
This leads on to a point that’s often neglected. Having all your tools and material easily reachable and positioned correctly actually reduces mental stress. Ever not managed to find something and had to spend an apparently endless amount of time trying to find it. Having your space organized helps prevent this from occuring.
So as you see the idea is to make your work space freed from physical and mental stress factors so it can truly make a significant difference in the way you’re feeling at the end of the day. You just have to determine if going through the training process is a fair exchange for finishing the day refreshed. What’s your opinion on this?
