Laptops and notebooks are power hungry devices and when running on their internal battery the time that they operate for can be frustratingly low. Once this happens it cannot be fixed so here is a simple way to ensure your battery never suffers this fate. At least every three weeks switch your computer on without the mains supply and allow it run till the battery is completely discharged that way it always remembers how much capacity it has.
A solution to the problem of extra battery power can be found in the form of an external battery pack. These are simply powerful battery packs that can be carried with you and plugged into your computers ac socket to allow operation. These are more powerful than the internal batteries in any laptop or notebook with their only disadvantage being the extra weight you have to carry anywhere between 1.5 and 4 pounds depending on which you buy. More of these devices are coming onto the market all the time as people realize how handy they can be when traveling or on holiday. They can be bought to fit a particular make of machine but the best type to buy is a universal battery. This type comes with an assortment of plugs so that it can be used on any type of laptop or notebook so when you replace your computer it will still be of use or maybe someone else in the family could use it as well. Most also come with a voltage selector to ensure compatibility with all makes and models and some can also be used to power phones and I pods along with other devices.
